I don’t really know what to think of last night, loads of different and mixed emotions. Night filled with some seriously experimental, jazzy, folky, psychedelic, down beat and up beat craziness. Not really my cup of tea, especially now when I am in a dodgy mental state of hypersomnia… Three very different acts, but at the same time very similar. But I have to point out that all the musicians were crazily talented and if I would not be so tired I would definitely enjoy it much more. Must also say that the light show by Hidden Agenda’s Davy was also very psychedelic and brilliant! He did an awesome job, and made my job photographing utterly difficult… Thanx Davy! 😉
The event last night was part of a two week long PAPAY GYRO NIGHTS ART FESTIVAL 2013 HK. PAPAY GYRO NIGHTS ART FESTIVAL is an International Contemporary Art Festival with Experimental Film and Video Art in connection with Visual Art, Performance, Music and Architecture.
Hidden Agenda showcased three bands last night. Caligine from Italy, two dudes on guitar and violin. IMPROV (Nelson HIU, Les FONG, Ling LEE, Paul YIP) from Hong Kong playing on guitar, drums, found objects and a lady with an amazing Cantonese Opera voice. The grande finale, ORKA, from Faroe Islands. This guy made me feel like a student again, back in England on a field in the middle of nowhere on a rave/trance gig. Pretty freaky, but in a good way though.
