Clockenflap Multimedia Arts & Music Festival, also just called “Clockenflap”, is an annual music and multimedia arts festival held in Hong Kong. It incorporates international, regional and local live music, film, art installations, digital arts, children’s entertainment and animation. This years lineup was for example: Daft Pink, Hanggai, Modeselector, 2manydjs, Bonaparte, Chic, Cui Jian, Franz Ferdinand, G.E.M, The Strypes and many, many more!

Clockenflap has never been motivated by profit – it’s always been about providing Hong Kong with the festival the people crave and deserve. Inspired by Fuji Rock, South by Southwest, and Glastonbury and with the success in showcasing the best up and coming artists as well as bringing major established acts to the city, Clockenflap is firmly established on the global festival map. I think this year the festival had its best weekend ever with the Saturday seeing over 20000 visitors passing the gates to enjoy the festivities!

It’s the biggest music and arts happening of the year here in Hong Kong. It’s extremely well organized with a super duper team making it happen. I was fortunate to be able to help them out with photography this year. Three snappers and a big video crew. I am just amazed that Hong Kong does not have many more large music events through out the year. I know there is a demand and people are definitely craving for something a little bit more exiting than K-pop? Anyways, this year was definitely a success and it was awesome! I would love to join and be part of it next year as well for sure.
