Psychedelic and rock ‘n’ roll with MaidaVale & The Blue Ruin

Went to check out The Blue Ruin at this tiny hidden gem in south Stockholm called Snövit (Snow White). The place is a bit run down with this tiny stage stacked away in the corner. Well, it might be tiny and small, but damn it has a great atmosphere. Really enjoyed it and loved the feeling of a small, dark underground pub away from anything and everything. Haven’t had this feeling for a very long time, freaking ace.

First up was an all female heavy blues band, MaidaVale. I’m not really a blues lover and did not really had a chance to check the band out before seeing them last night. But I must say, after seeing them play yesterday I’m in love with their music. Great retro 70’s psychedelic sound played with heart and soul. Check them out when you get a chance, if you like your rock, you’ll love these great ladies as well.

I had the pleasure of seeing The Blue Ruin play s couple of times before and there’s no way I ever get tired of this trio. Brilliant music and a fabulous bunch of people. Last night was a great evening with attitude and hard voodoo-rock action. More please!

Also, come and check me out on Facebook?
